aManda Greene, was an educator, artist, and social entrepreneur with a BA in Humanities and a MBA in sustainable enterprise by Dominican University.

Raised in both the United States and Brazil with Melitta as her mother, she grew up exposed to different cultures, which gave her a deep appreciation and curiosity for other people’s way of living.

 

Over the past fifteen years, aManda has engaged in various youth development projects, including a community-based environmental circus in Bahia, co-leading a group to a permaculture project in India, an elementary school garden program in Oakland, California; and an after-school arts program in New Mexico. 

 

 

aManda lived in Oakland for the last ten years, where she was the co-founder and co-director of the “Youth Impact Hub”,  an organization that develops the leadership and entrepreneurship of low-income youth by providing them with innovative training, collaborative co-working space, and access to networks.

Melitta Tchaicovsky, is a Brazilian-born multimedia digital artist with a BFA in Visual Communication. Her photos and ethnographic documentaries can be found in DVDs, books, and on exhibitions at galleries, art movie theaters, film festivals, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the All Roads Film Festival.

 

Currently based in both Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Netanya Israel, Melitta travels the world documenting different cultures dedicated to projects that promote the understanding and appreciation of the costumes, arts, and traditions of people from all over the world.

 

A mother of two, aManda and Amos, and a grandmother of five children. Melitta believes that it is especially important for children to learn about different ways of life of people and places around the globe;  this knowledge leads to acceptance and appreciation of the other, and ultimately to a more kind and peaceful society.
